The best time to visit Tunisia for good weather
The best time to travel to Tunisia is between June and September if you are looking for a beach holiday. Those months offer extreme heat, a lot of sun, and chances for rainfalls are minimum. For discovering the desert Sahara September-November is an ideal time, as the weather isn’t too hot anymore. The best time for sightseeing and traveling around the country is February-April and September-October when the weather is mild and not too rainy. Also, the summertime is good for discovering if +40 degrees Celsius isn’t slowing you down.
The best time to visit Tunisia for the elderly is the spring months March-May and autumn months September-November when there is plenty of sunlight without being too hot. For me, the best time in Tunisia is June- September as I enjoy the extreme hotness but after all, every month has something great to offer. The seasons and weather change throughout the year, choose the month when to visit Tunisia based on your preferences and what you are willing to do during the holiday.
Weather in Tunisia in January
January is the second winter month and also the coldest month of the year in Tunisia. In January temperatures change around 8-16 degrees Celsius and rainfalls are normal. It might be a great time to visit Tunisia if a plan is to discover places without the extreme heat and enjoy pleasant temperatures and sunlight during the daytime. But if the plan is to swim and sunbathe then January isn’t the best time for a visit. Remember to pack also warming clothes as humidity and low temperature make a cold feeling combination.

In February daily temperature changes between 8- 17 degrees Celsius. In this month weather in Tunisia is mild, cloud cover and rainfalls are common. Some tourists prefer to visit Tunisia at this time as it’s less crowded and the weather is enjoyable. Bring warming clothes and a couple of t-shirts as Tunisian weather can offer surprising warmness from time to time. Travel to Gabes or Tozeur in the south of Tunisia to minimize the number of rainfalls and to get the warmest weather. In general, the weather in February is a bit unpredictable, some rain might occur and temperatures are moderate are but normally possibility to enjoy sunlight is guaranteed.

Spring has arrived! The days are getting longer, the weather gets warmer and the amount of sunshine is increasing. In March, the temperature can rise a maximum of 20 degrees Celsius, and the minimum is 10 degrees Celsius. The weather is very pleasant, you can walk around in a t-shirt, sunglasses and light jacket and enjoy the sunshine at the terrace by the beach. For some people, these temperatures are enough for sunbathing. Typically, the weather in March isn’t too hot either too cold, also it is not as rainy as in January and February but some rainfalls are normal.

Personally, I really like the weather in April, it is perfect weather for doing things outside and discover places. Start the day at a café, enjoy the coffee and croissant outside with enjoyable sunlight. The weather is sunny but not hot. In April, at the nights the temperature drops low as 10 degrees Celsius, and during the daytime temperature is around 17°C but it can rise 23°C. The amounts of rainfalls are decreasing and also the rains are a rather short term. If you are willing to enjoy the holiday without too many tourists then April is a good month for you. This is the last month before lots of tourists arrive and the summer season begins.

Pack your bikinis, sunglasses, and sunscreens! In May, the Tunisian summer officially starts. Citizens and tourists are heading to beaches and there is lots of sunshine to enjoy. In May Tunisian weather starts to be high in temperature and only very few showers. During the day the temperature is average 23-26°C and during the night on average 16°C Also seawater temperature starts to rise to be around 18°C This is a perfect month to visit Tunisia if you are looking for warmness but you don’t enjoy the extreme heat.

The weather in June in Tunisia is hot and dry. It is a dream holiday destination for people who love sunny weather, beach life, and continuous sunshine. In June, Tunisian weather is getting hotter. The daily temperatures are around 30 degrees Celsius and you can enjoy the sunshine for 12 hours/day. With such weather, it is important to remember sunscreen, headwear, sunglasses, and light clothes. The busiest season for tourism starts in June, so if you dislike large crowds and heat then this, not the best time for you to visit Tunisia. In tourist season, normally, everything costs more than usual. But in June there are still fewer travelers than in July and August.

July is one of the busiest months for travelers. It is a great time to visit Tunisia due to its wonderful weather and the country itself is very lively. For sure you will have an amazing holiday! The days are full of sunshine and temperatures climb up to 35 degrees Celsius. You don’t need to worry about the rain as most probably there won’t be any rain and if it happens it will be just for a couple of hours. Make sure to have air conditioning in your hotel room as the days are hot and the temperature does not drop too low during the night. During the hottest time of the day, Tunisian people stay indoors, of course, another great option is to stay at the beach.

The hottest month of the year is here! In August, a lot of tourists arrive to enjoy extreme heat and beach life. Travelers can expect clear skies, pleasant sea water temperature, hardly any rain, and loads of sunshine. The average temperature is around 30 degrees Celsius but it can climb up to 40 degrees Celsius, it is recommendable to stay indoors during the hottest time of the day. In cities by the coast, you will experience refreshing sea breeze, and inland near to Sahara the temperatures raise extreme high. During the touristic peak season, the prices are a bit more expensive, some areas might get crowded and for some people, the high temperatures might be too hot.

The high season of tourism is over and the September is less crowded. In September the weather is still hot but starts to get more pleasant. The temperature still gets high as 30 degrees Celsius but the climate is fresher due to some light rainfalls and milder evenings. The climate is wonderful and it makes discovering the country very pleasing but you can still enjoy sunbathing and swimming. In addition to the swimwear pack, a couple of warming garments as the evenings are getting balmy. September is also a great month to discover the Sahara Desert.

If you are looking for a place to enjoy autumn Tunisia is a fantastic option. October the weather gets milder, the daily temperature range between 17-30°C Some rainfalls are possible and 1- 6 rainy days can be expected in this month. Also, the seawater temperature is 22 degrees Celsius, it’s slowly but surely getting cooler, but all kinds of sports activities are still enjoyable. This is also a perfect time to discover the country itself! Rent a car and start exploring! If willing to minimize the chance for rainfalls, then head towards the south.
Weather in Tunisia in November
November is the last autumn month and the weather conditions make Tunisia still a great destination. The temperatures would be between 12-22 degrees Celsius but at the beginning of the month, the temperature can reach high as 25 degrees Celsius. The rainfalls are becoming more common and you can have about 6 rainy days in November. The tourist season is over and resorts are much calmer, take an advance of this and discover the popular destinations and attractions without a crowd. Take an umbrella and jacket with you before heading for adventure as the evenings are already a bit chilly.

In December the amount of daylight decreases but there is still plenty of sunshine but be prepared for rainfalls. To maximize the warmness travel to the south part of the country that is slightly warmer than the north. In December you can enjoy the calm atmosphere, enjoy outdoor activities and discover places but if you plan to swim and sunbathe then I do not recommend Tunisia in December.
